Corporate Users with Specific Needs

Companies that can standardize on web applications and need total control over desktop infrastructure find in Linux an economically viable alternative. Especially in environments where security and customization are priorities.

Casual Users with Adobe Needs

If your work depends on Creative Suite and you don't want to deal with Wine or virtual machines, macOS or Windows are still more practical choices. Linux's learning curve may not be justified.

Linux on desktop isn't "ready for everyone" - and probably never will be, just like iOS isn't ready for everyone. But it's definitely ready for a significant portion of users who were previously forced to use Windows.

The question has shifted from "when will Linux be viable?" to "for which users is Linux already the best choice?". And that list grows every year.

For developers, system administrators, and advanced users, Linux offers superior productivity. For casual gamers and customization enthusiasts, it has become a genuine alternative. For creative professionals and traditional corporate users, significant barriers still exist.

Most importantly: for the first time in history, choosing Linux doesn't mean accepting an inferior experience. In many cases, it means choosing a better experience, but a different one.
